Laundry Aide every other weekend/holiday A nursing home laundry aide's job involves washing, drying, folding, and distributing facility linens and residents' personal clothing according to strict sanitation and infection control standards. Key duties include sorting laundry, operating industrial washing machines, treating stains, and returning cleaned items to the correct rooms or linen closets. The role is crucial for maintaining a clean, comfortable, and hygienic environment for residents.

Core responsibilities orting and washing:

Collect and sort soiled linens, garments, and other laundry items. Wash, dry, and fold these items following proper procedures.

Distribution:

Deliver clean linens, towels, and residents' personal clothing to their correct rooms or designated storage areas.

Personal clothing care:

Handle residents' personal laundry with care, ensuring it is returned neatly (e.g., hung in closets and placed in drawers).

Infection control:

Follow strict cleanliness standards to prevent the spread of infection.

Equipment and supply maintenance:

Operate and maintain laundry equipment, and report any needed repairs to a supervisor. Monitor and inform the supervisor when supplies are running low.

Cleaning:

Keep the laundry area clean and tidy, which may include cleaning sorting and soiled linen tubs and floors.

Additional duties Housekeeping tasks:

Some roles may extend to minor housekeeping, such as making beds, changing room divider curtains, and dusting public areas

Collaboration:

Work with nursing and housekeeping teams to meet the needs of residents and the facility.

Inventory management:

Monitor inventory of linens and other washable items, and assist with ordering.
