Job Description
Job Summary The laundry attendant performs all laundry room duties to provide clean and folded linen and terry, in an efficient and effective manner. Essential Functions 1. Assists all guests in a sincere and courteous manner, whenever possible going the extra mile and doing whatever it takes to ensure guest satisfaction. 2. Sorts, washes, dries, and folds all linen and terry. 3. Pulls out of circulation stained and damaged linen/terry and sets aside for mending or extra cleaning. 4. Keeps all equipment clean and reports maintenance problems to supervisor. 5. Keeps laundry room and linen/terry store rooms stocked, cleaned, and orderly. 6. Keeps all laundry and cleaning supplies stocked and stored properly. 7. Assist housekeepers in stripping rooms of linen/terry and helps with stocking of storage rooms. 8. Acquires working knowledge of the property and all facilities to respond to guest questions effectively. 9. Understands and applies all hotel safety and security procedures as required to maintain a secure and safe environment for employees and guests. 10. Keeps immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance coming to his/her attention so prompt corrective action can be taken. 11. Keeps track of all damaged and stained linen. 12. Perform other duties as requested or required. Qualification Standards 1. Ability to accept direction and priorities from supervisor and reliably follow-through on tasks. 2. Ability to be friendly and cheerful; interact easily with strangers. 3. Ability to cooperate and support others. 4. Ability to work independently with little supervision. 5. Ability to work with industrial laundry equipment, cleaning equipment and cleaning chemicals. 6. Good hand dexterity required to sort laundry, load machines, fold and store properly. 7. Grooming must meet property standards. 8. Must be able to stand for long periods of time, be in good physical condition, bending, stooping, twisting, reaching and lifting up to 50# or more may be required. Please note this is a temporary summer position with the opportunity to move to housekeeping position if the position is available at the time.
