Part-Time Cleaning & Laundry Assistant for Barbershop Houston, TX 77084 $10 an hour - Part-time, Contract $10 an hour - Part-time, Contract Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated Part-Time Cleaning & Laundry Assistant to join our vibrant barbershop team! In this energetic role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, welcoming environment for both clients and staff. Your attention to detail and proactive approach will ensure that the shop remains spotless, hygienic, and inviting at all times. This position offers flexible hours and the opportunity to be an essential part of a dynamic team committed to excellence and customer satisfaction. Duties Perform thorough cleaning of all areas within the barbershop, including reception, styling stations, restrooms, and break areas Manage laundry duties by washing, drying, folding, and organizing towels, capes, and other linens used during services Maintain cleanliness of tools and equipment, including sterilization procedures for scissors, clippers, and other grooming tools Conduct floor care activities such as sweeping, mopping, buffing, and polishing to ensure a pristine environment Assist with custodial tasks like waste disposal, restocking supplies, and ensuring sanitation standards are met consistently Support facilities maintenance by reporting any repairs needed or safety hazards promptly Uphold high standards of cleanliness in accordance with health regulations and shop policies Requirements Proven experience in cleaning, janitorial work, or custodial services; experience in commercial or industrial cleaning is highly valued Knowledge of floor care techniques including buffing and polishing to maintain a professional appearance Familiarity with laundry operations and linen management in a commercial setting Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting linens or cleaning equipment; standing for extended periods is required Strong attention to detail with a proactive attitude toward maintaining cleanliness standards Excellent time management skills to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently Ability to work independently while following established procedures and safety guidelines Join us as a vital part of our team where your efforts directly contribute to creating a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for everyone who walks through our doors!
