GED Full Job Description What You'll Do:
Under the direction of the Facilities Manager, the Laundry System Technician is responsible for the installation, inspection, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial laundry equipment and related utility systems that support resort-wide linen operations at Spokane Tribe Resort & Casino. This position plays a critical operational role in ensuring a continuous and reliable supply of clean linens for hotel, food and beverage, and banquet operations. The Laundry System Technician maintains all laundry equipment and supporting infrastructure in peak operating condition, minimizes equipment downtime, and supports the resort's standards for safety, sanitation, efficiency, and guest service excellence.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES
Promote and support a culture of excellence at Spokane Tribe Resort & Casino by modeling STRC values, delivering exceptional guest service, and upholding the highest standards of professionalism and ethics. Provide exceptional guest service throughout all interactions. Ensure compliance with all applicable gaming regulations, internal controls, and departmental policies, including requirements of the Gaming Commission and applicable state and federal authorities. Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial laundry equipment used in high-volume resort operations, including, but not limited to: washers, dryers, flatwork ironers, folders, presses, conveyors, pumps, motors, belts, bearings, and valves. Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on all laundry equipment according to manufacturer specifications and departmental maintenance schedules; document all service activity in the work order management system. Monitor, maintain, and repair supporting utility systems directly tied to laundry operations, including hot water supply, steam, drainage, compressed air, and chemical dispensing systems. Diagnose and resolve equipment failures involving mechanical, electrical, plumbing, pneumatic, and electronic control systems; escalate complex failures to OEM vendors or specialty contractors as warranted. Maintain an accurate inventory of parts, supplies, and chemicals used in laundry operations; coordinate with Warehouse and Purchasing for procurement of replacement parts and consumables. Ensure chemical dispensing systems are properly calibrated and that chemical usage complies with Safety Data Sheet (SDS) requirements, OSHA standards, and departmental safety protocols. Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and emergency service calls to minimize operational impact on linen supply and overall resort operations; participate in on-call rotation as required. Coordinate with Housekeeping, Hotel, and Food & Beverage leadership to communicate equipment status, planned maintenance windows, and linen availability impacts in a timely and professional manner. Perform duties and responsibilities associated with the Facilities Engineer position. Demonstrate dependability and reliability by maintaining regular, punctual attendance and consistently fulfilling assigned shifts and responsibilities. Create, maintain, and facilitate a positive and safe work environment; promote healthy team member relations and report concerns to appropriate personnel. Perform other duties as assigned.
What You'll Bring:
Education & Experience High school diploma or GED required; technical training or vocational certification in industrial maintenance, HVAC, electrical, or a related trade preferred. Minimum of two (2) years of maintenance experience in commercial laundry, hospitality, healthcare, or industrial/institutional maintenance. Obtain and maintain applicable state gas piping/appliance license as required for work on gas-fired commercial equipment. Willing and available to work varied schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Skills, Abilities & Competencies Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, pneumatic, and electronic control systems as applied to commercial laundry equipment. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, equipment schematics, and parts lists. Proficiency with electronic work order systems and basic computer skills, including email and maintenance recordkeeping. Proven ability to work independently, prioritize repair decisions, and perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume resort environment. Communicate effectively with guests, team members, and external contacts. Read, write, and speak English fluently. High level of integrity, discretion, and commitment to confidentiality. Maintain a positive, professional, and productive demeanor. Move efficiently throughout the work area
Regulatory & Compliance Responsibilities:
Obtain and maintain a valid gaming license and applicable position certifications/licenses.
