Resort- Laundry Attendant General Position Summary:
Ensures that linen is clean and available for the hotel and spa as needed.
Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:
Approaches all guest encounters utilizing the Clearly Superior customer service standards Processes, separates clean and dirty linen Manages time effectively by following the predetermined schedule for all aspects of laundry cleaning Loads and unloads machinery Performs all stages of linen processing (i.e., sorting and weighing soiled linen; clean linen; runs clean laundry through the proper machinery) Cleans the laundry equipment for maximum efficiency Follows the established procedure for discarding damaged linen Makes suggestions to the Laundry Supervisor on supply levels Assist in laundry inventories Attends all vendor and company training Reports machine malfunctions and all unsafe working conditions immediately to the
Laundry Supervisor or Executive Housekeeper Secondary Functions:
Maintains confidentiality of all guests Other duties as assigned
Specific Job Skills:
Ability to follow directions Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to problem-solve, handle stressful situations and make good decisions and meet deadlines Ability to act professionally with difficult situations and people Ability to function in a team-orientated environment and work independently Education and/or
Experience:
High School diploma or GED desired. A minimum of six (6) months prior housekeeping/environmental services and/or laundry experience. CPR Certification.
Job Conditions:
Working conditions include working in a spa with equipment necessary to provide services as outlined in this job description. Other working conditions may include working with others, frequent interruptions, and working evenings and/or weekends. Working in a smoke-filled environment may be necessary. Other conditions include working alone with frequent interruptions.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift seventy-five (75) pounds while standing, twisting, or bending. Manual and finger dexterity is required to perform duties and may involve standing, sitting, bending, kneeling for extended periods of time and will include reaching with arms and hands.
