These positions will have the option to work a schedule between the hours of 6:30 am and 10:00 pm. MMHI is located on the north side of Madison and offers a beautiful campus environment, convenient free parking and an onsite workout facility. MMHI is an inpatient psychiatric facility, with one outpatient program, and is an integral part of the entire Wisconsin mental health service delivery system. Our overall service delivery goal is to provide specialized services in treatment, research, training and consultation. MMHI is part of the Division of Care and Treatment Services (DCTS). Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program employer. Position Summary As a Laundry Worker, you will be responsible for the critical supply chain of textile and linen management. The primary focus of this role is the on-site processing, quality inspection, and strategic distribution of linens and apparel. By managing inventory flow and ensuring all materials meet strict clinical standards, you will ensure that patient units and medical offices remain fully operational, sanitary, and safe. Salary Information The starting pay for these positions is $17.01 per hour ($35,300 per year), plus excellent benefits. A 12-month probationary period is required. Pay for current or former state employees will be set based on the rules that apply to compensation for the applicable transaction. These positions are in pay schedule and range 03/08. Job Details All applicants will be required to allow the DHS to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any convictions may be related to the job being filled. All appointees will be required to receive a TB test, which will be administered by MMHI or medical personnel approved by the facility prior to their start date. These positions have physical requirements, which include the ability to lift and carry 50-75 lbs. frequently; ability to twist, bend, and reach throughout a shift. DHS does not sponsor work visas for these positions, thus, in compliance with federal law, selected candidates will be required to verify eligibility to work in the United States by completing the required I-9 form upon hire. Qualifications Minimally qualified applicants will have all of the following: Ability to work scheduled hours as needed, which may include weekends, holidays, early morning or early evenings, and overtime as needed.
