Long-Term Care Laundry Aide Overview:
As a Long-Term Care Laundry Aide, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for residents and staff in a long-term care facility. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the proper laundering of linens, clothing, and other items, contributing to the overall well-being and comfort of residents.
Key Responsibilities:
Laundry Operations:
Sort, wash, dry, fold, and distribute linens, clothing, and other laundry items according to established procedures and guidelines. Operate laundry equipment, including washers, dryers, and ironing machines, ensuring they are used efficiently and safely.
Quality Control:
Inspect linens and clothing for stains, damage, or wear, and follow appropriate procedures for repair or replacement. Ensure that all laundry meets quality standards and infection control guidelines.
Inventory Management:
Maintain an organized inventory of clean linens and clothing. Monitor and report shortages or excesses of linen supplies and assist in ordering replacements as needed.
Safety and Infection Control:
Adhere to safety protocols and infection control measures in handling, washing, and distributing laundry. Follow established procedures for handling soiled linens to minimize the risk of cross-contamination. Adherence to
Policies and Regulations:
Follow facility policies and procedures related to laundry operations. Stay informed about and comply with relevant health and safety regulations.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in laundry operations, preferably in a healthcare or long-term care setting. Knowledge of laundry equipment operation and maintenance. Attention to detail and the ability to identify and address issues with laundry items. Physical stamina and ability to lift and move laundry items. Come check us out!!!
