MENTORS FOR THE HIGHLY GIFTED 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR
Seeking qualified persons to work with Highly Gifted Students in the Visual Arts (K-5) and the following K-12 academic areas:
Math Science English Social Studies World Language Availability Requirements:
Must be able to work in person during the school day when the student is in school. No evening, weekends, or school breaks. Mentors in the academic subject areas will meet with their assigned student during the same class period each day. (Art Mentor assignments are generally once a week.)
Academic Requirements:
Junior or Senior status in college or have a Bachelor degree or above Must have completed a minimum 15 semester credit hours in one or more of the six (6) areas listed above, with a subject G.P.A. of 3.5 or above Cumulative 3.0 G.P.A. or above Any deviation from the requirements listed above must be approved by the Supervisor of Elementary Personnel Services. In addition to the academic qualifications, past history and references are considered in determining an applicant meets the qualifications for Mentor. You must include a MINIMUM of three (3) professional references on this application.

1) work and volunteer supervisors; 2) professors or 3) practicum or student teaching supervisors who would have had an opportunity to evaluate your work.
