Job Description

Summary :
The Spa Supervisor is a multiple-task position to support spa objectives and provide spa guests with excellent guest service. The duties of the Spa Supervisor may include, but are not limited to maintaining a smooth spa operation in the Spa Manager's absence, handling any guest problems as they arise, performing time edits on Spa Manager's days off and assisting the Spa Manager, inventories, purchasing, scheduling and training new staff.
Education & Experience:
2-3 years of related experience Extensive knowledge of spa treatments. Commitment to excellence and high standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Ability to create supportive and nurturing environment which consistently delivers a spa experience that exceeds guest and staff expectations. Maintain professional relationships with suppliers and providers. Guide staff to become caring problem solvers, cooperative, accommodating and fair. Ensures the proper training of all employees to the standards established by the spa. Maintain a friendly and warm demeanor at all times. Maintain an attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous attitude to all guests, managers and fellow employees. Demonstrate an exceptional level of professionalism for all staff to emulate. Create a motivating environment of sincerity, warmth and fun for staff and guests. Assist in performing regular staff evaluations with proposed action plans. Hold regular meetings to keep staff up to date on all aspects of the Spa's operation. Exhibit a professional and polite appearance at all times. Ability to take initiative, ownership and prioritize tasks. Ensure that the spa operates smoothly in the Spa Manager's absence by smartly dealing with any staffing concerns, guest issues, and requests from groups and/or other hotel departments. Maintain documentation of any concerns that need to be addressed by the Spa Manager if the Spa Manager is unavailable at the time of the concern. Perform time edits as needed by Spa Manager. Facilitate group in writing purchase orders for the Spa and Spa Manager. Assist Spa Manager in training new employees. Handle support staff scheduling and enter service provider schedules into Spa Soft. Maintain a cash bank and know and adhere to all hotel banking and point-of-sale regulations including making money drops, exchanging cash and receiving periodic bank audits. Must be knowledgeable of all spa treatments, their benefits and any contraindications pertaining to special populations. Maintain a consistent, polite awareness of all guest activities in order to maintain and enforce cleanliness, safety and occupancy requirements. Sanitize all areas multiple times throughout shift including but not limited to bathrooms, showers, counters, mirrors, floors, gym equipment, pool furniture, etc according to laws and spa policies. Maintain a clean, safe and properly occupied spa according to current laws, orders and spa policies. Clean, organize and sanitize employee & guest common areas including restrooms once an hour. Maintain eye contact when addressing external and internal guests. Handle guests' questions and concerns professionally and courteously. Provide accurate, appropriate and immediate responses to all requests by guests, ensuring complete guest satisfaction. Actively promote the spa, treatments, services, sessions and retail, as well as programs, promotions and/or discounts available. Assist in all areas of spa operation as requested by management. Be flexible with your schedule, supporting the needs of the spa. Run daily reports including various end of shift reports and provider and guest itineraries. Develops and makes recommendations on spa treatments and packages to better utilize the skills of the staff as well as the use of the facilities. The Spa Supervisor will document staff issues to be dealt with by the Spa Manager, but will not engage in corrective counseling without the presence of the Spa Manager, General Manager or Human Resources Manager. Maintain a friendly and warm demeanor at all times. Maintain an attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous attitude to all guests, managers and fellow employees. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Marginal:
Attend meetings/training as required by management. Perform other duties as requested by management.

Other Qualifications:
Must be able to work nights, weekends, holidays and overtime. Must be able to multi task. Must routinely meet deadlines
Physical Demands:
Must be able to function effectively at elevations of 10,000 feet or higher. Lift and move a minimum of up to 25 pounds without assistance Wear appropriate safety equipment. Flexible and long hours sometimes required, including holidays and weekends.

The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The wage for this position is $22 per hour.
