This position performs all job responsibilities listed in the guest services job description as well as the salon manager responsibilities listed below Provides first point of contact at front desk for all guests Greets, hangs coats, offers beverages, and checks in guests Alerts service providers when guests have arrived Answers phones, responds to inquiries, and schedules appointments Completes daily appointment confirmation calls/texts/emails Assists service providers during checkout and prebooks appointments Processes credit card payments for services, and processes credit card and cash payments for retail purchases Retail area/facility upkeep Understands retail product lines and assists guests with retail product purchases Responsible for cleanliness of retail product, retail product shelving/displays, restrooms, and salon common areas Responsible for stocking retail shelves and backbar area Assists with laundry Schedules and conducts interviews for potential employees Hires and fires employees utilizing proper documentation Trains all new employees according to established training procedures Manages employees' daily job responsibilities/productivity and properly directs employees as needed Creates and manages the front desk schedule Conducts employee reviews Covers front desk when short staffed Welcomes and trains all new service providers according to established procedures Provides and promotes strong and positive leadership Communicates company policies and procedures Schedules in salon education Ensures salon is up to state health and safety standards and complies with inspections Reports and schedules all maintenance Orders necessary salon supplies and manages salon supply inventory Meets with vendors to order retail products and backbar products according to set budgets Creates and manages retail displays, signage, promotions, and contests Plans and executes salon events Accurately and effectively manages retail product inventory and margin Keeps financial records and controls salon expenses Assists salon owner(s) with monthly expense reports Makes weekly bank deposits and maintains change in retail cash drawer Pays vendors and salon invoices Creates social media posts and maintains all social media accounts Maintains relationships and communication with other hair district salon managers to create a cohesive management team Attends meetings with owner(s) and managers Works with owner(s) and project manager to implement marketing strategies and projects that help grow the business Attends educational events Qualifications Manager or Assistant Manager at a salon for minimum of one year or have been in the salon industry for two plus years Strong focus on customer service Excellent role model in appearance, commitment, and attitude Confident in managing staff and training Knowledge on how to grow a business Organizational skills Effective communication Effectively work in a team environment and to maintain effective working relationships with guest services staff, salon manager(s), salon owners(s), and service providers Proficient with computers and experience with salon scheduling software, preferably Millennium Salon Software or Meevo Salon Software Multi task and effectively manage job functions while under pressure Be reliable and dependable Maintain confidentiality Ability to occasionally lift retail boxes (up to 20 lbs) Ability to move within the salon to communicate with others Ability to travel locally Benefits Competitive wages with opportunity for quarterly and year-end bonus Employee discount 8 hour shift Monday to Friday Bonus pay
