Job Description

Position Summary:
Responsible for partnering with the Spa Manger to oversee, organize and supervise the Cedar Creek Spa at Big Cedar Lodge, specifically focusing on the Salon.
Compensation Range:
$52-63k Depending on
Experience Essential Functions:
Provides direct supervision, including hiring, training, coaching, and discipline to the Salon Team Design and deliver On The Job Training for both new hires and current Associates Ensure that all Salon Associate licenses are current Ensure that the Salon maintains all applicable licenses and certifications. Act as the primary contact with the Missouri Board of Cosmetology. Ensure that all OSHA and Missouri Board of Cosmetology policies and practices are being followed at all times. Promote the Spa by providing information about and reservations for spa services. Act as the Service point of contact for large groups, ensuring that the treatments and activities flow according to plan. Lead by example and work to provide courteous and extra special services to each spa guest. Investigate and follow through on guest dissatisfaction opportunities. Prepare associate schedules weekly and update contact sheets when new hires arrive. Maintain associate codes and set up in software. Prepare weekly commission/payroll report in absence of manager. Handle all punch corrections forms daily, print daily associate schedules and assign room numbers. Daily manage schedules to minimize overtime Coordinate with Executive Housekeeper and engineering to ensure safe, well-maintained and clean spa areas though HOTSOS. Work with Manager to maintain Associate Relations and develop programs for associate morale and retention. Develop and manage retail sales contests. Work with Manager to develop marketing plans to enhance revenue, specifically as it relates to Salon revenue. Effectively manage labor and other costs in the Salon delivering on budget and pay-sales goals. Order weekly Spa supply inventory. Assist with Spa retail inventory. Will perform other duties as required.
Candidate Profile:
Education and Experience High school diploma or GED Two or more years of management experience in a similar setting preferred Strong communication, customer service and computer skills are desired
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly assists in supervising approximately 35 employees in the Spa. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and use excel spreadsheets.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of 10 key Accounting software; Springer Miller Database software; Microsoft Outlook Internet software; Big Cedar internal Order processing systems; Unitime Payroll systems and Microsoft Word or Word Perfect Word Processing software.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
A safe driving record and the ability to obtain a Missouri E or Arkansas "P" designated driver's license.
Other Skills and Abilities:
The ability to work well with a team, to prioritize, a sense of urgency and a real concern for guest satisfaction.
