Job Description

The Floor Manager is responsible for overseeing daily dining room service in a fine dining restaurant within a private members club, ensuring that every member and guest receives polished, attentive, and personalized hospitality. This role supports the General Manager by managing the floor during service, monitoring table readiness, coordinating reservations and seating flow, assisting with member requests, and maintaining the refined atmosphere expected in a private club setting. The Floor Manager ensures that service standards, timing, presentation, and communication between the front-of-house, kitchen, bar, and host teams remain consistent throughout each shift. This position requires strong leadership, professionalism, and attention to detail. The Floor Manager supervises servers, server assistants, hosts, runners, and other front-of-house team members, providing guidance, coaching, and support before and during service. They lead pre-shift briefings, communicate menu changes and special requests, monitor staff performance, and ensure proper grooming, etiquette, and service procedures are followed. In a private members club environment, the Floor Manager must demonstrate discretion, remember member preferences, handle feedback with tact, and resolve service issues quickly and gracefully. The ideal candidate has experience in fine dining, luxury hospitality, private clubs, or upscale restaurant operations, with a strong understanding of elevated service standards and member-focused hospitality. They should be highly organized, calm under pressure, confident in guest communication, and skilled at managing service flow in a fast-paced yet refined environment. Knowledge of reservation systems, wine and beverage service, table etiquette, staff training, and service recovery is preferred. The Floor Manager must be available to work evenings, weekends, holidays, private events, and special club functions as required.
