Job Description

Machine Shop Assistant Location:
Northend Auto Parts, Inc. Northend Auto Parts, Inc. Machine Shop is known for its dedication to quality, precision, and exceptional service. We're looking for a motivated, hands-on individual to join our team as a Machine Shop Assistant . This role offers valuable on-the-job training and the chance to work side-by-side with an experienced machinist in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
What You'll Be Doing:
Disassemble engines and cylinder heads Inspect engine components using precision tools like micrometers, height gauges, and feeler gauges Wash and clean parts thoroughly for machining Surface flywheels and turn rotors/brake drums Remove and replace U-joints and front hub bearings Operate shop equipment, including presses and brake lathes Maintain a clean and organized work environment daily
What We're Looking For:
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation High school diploma or GED Must be at least 18 years old Minimum 1 year of experience in automotive mechanics (school or shop experience applies) A team player with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn
Bonus Points If You Have:
Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish Familiarity with brake lathes, flywheel surfacers, and oxy-acetylene torches
Physical Requirements:
Able to lift up to 50 lbs solo, and 100 lbs with assistance Comfortable standing for long periods (up to 8 hours/day) Must be able to wear required PPE and safety gear Good vision for detailed part inspections Why Northend Auto Parts, Inc.?
