Responsibilities Perform alterations on a variety of garments including dresses, suits, trousers, and outerwear with precision and attention to detail Measure clients accurately using standard sizing techniques and basic math skills to determine necessary adjustments Use sewing machines efficiently to sew, hem, take in or let out fabric, and make repairs as needed Consult with customers to understand their alteration requests and provide expert advice on fit and style options Ensure all garments meet quality standards through thorough inspection before returning them to customers Maintain a clean, organized workspace with proper handling of sewing tools and materials Collaborate with team members to manage workload effectively during busy periods Requirements Proven experience as an alterations tailor or seamstress within a fashion retail environment or similar setting Strong sewing skills with proficiency in operating sewing machines and garment construction techniques Knowledge of fabric types, garment fitting, and alteration methods Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally Familiarity with sewing machine maintenance and troubleshooting is a plus Attention to detail, reliability, and a passion for craftsmanship are essential for success in this role Join us if you're eager to craft beautifully fitting garments while delivering outstanding service!
