  • Seasonal, Full-time Show Off designs and manufactures custom costumes for dance teams, ice skaters, twirlers, color guard, and cheer squads, shipped to schools and studios across the country.
We are a small, tight-knit production shop with a busy season ahead, and we are looking for an experienced seamstress to sew alongside our team. This is seasonal work to start, with a real path to year-round employment for someone whose quality, speed, and reliability prove themselves out.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
  • Sewing custom costumes from cut pieces — bodysuits, skirts, tops, and two-piece sets
  • Working primarily with 4-way stretch fabrics (spandex, lycra, mesh, metallic knits) and linings
  • Constructing clean seams, zippers, closures, and finishing details that hold up to performance
  • Working from patterns and a sketch/spec for each order, hitting fit and finish standards
  • Keeping pace in a deadline-driven production flow during peak season
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
  • Proven sewing experience — ideally with stretch/performance fabrics, dancewear, swimwear, costumes, or activewear
  • Comfort on industrial machines (straight stitch, serger/overlock; coverstitch a plus)
  • Strong attention to fit, symmetry, and finish — these go on stage
  • Speed AND consistency — you can produce volume without sacrificing quality
  • Dependable, team-oriented, and steady under deadline
NICE TO HAVE

  • Experience with rhinestones / heat-set appliqué or embellishment
  • Pattern reading or light alteration experience
  • Bilingual (several on our team speak Ukrainian/Russian) DETAILS

    On-site at our Roselle, IL shop (hands-on, not remote)
  • Schedule:
    Full-time hours during peak season; flexibility a plus
  • Pay:
    Competitive. What you earn depends on your work — the quality, speed, and accuracy of your production. Strong, low-error sewers earn more.
  • Seasonal to year-round: Strong performers are kept on after the season
