Job Description

This is a contract position for prototype development with the possibility of future work. Required Skills Experience designing plush toys, stuffed animals, or pillows Ability to draft sewing patterns Professional sewing skills Experience constructing prototype soft goods Knowledge of upholstery foam, memory foam, batting, and stuffing Experience selecting fabrics and trim Ability to create and refine multiple prototype iterations Comfortable working with integrated electronic components Responsibilities The successful candidate will: Refine the overall stuffed pet design. Design and build a realistic plush cat head. Create sewing patterns for all fabric components. Sew complete working prototypes. Recommend the best fabrics, faux fur, foam, stuffing, and internal support materials. Design internal pockets and attachment methods for electronic components. Ensure the product is soft, comfortable, durable, and serviceable. Develop removable designer covers for laundering and protecting 'fur'. Collaborate with the embedded systems developer to integrate the electronics into the pillow. Revise the design based on testing and feedback. Preferred Experience Plush toy manufacturing Pet products Baby products Therapeutic or sensory products Industrial sewing Pattern making Consumer product development Applicants should provide photographs of previous sewing, plush toy, pillow, or prototype work. Experience creating physical prototypes is preferred.
Pay:
$1,000.00 - $3,000.00 per year People with a criminal record are encouraged to apply
