Job Description
Sales associate at sewing store selling sewing machines, sergers, embroidery machines, yard goods, notions and accessories. This job requires significant customer interactions and needs a people person capable of working with customers of all ages and from a wide variety of backgrounds. Prior sewing skills will help.
- Weekends required, week day hours also available (closed Mondays).
- Customer service experience
- Small appliance sales experience a plus, willing to train
- Sewing experience, use of sewing machine, serger, embroidery and hand sewing a plus
- Capable of carrying boxes and machines up to 40 lbs up and down a flight of stairs multiple times a day
- Knowdledge and experience with POS systems a plus
- English required
- Basic computers skills required (email, Microsoft Office, Facebook, Instagram, other basic tools)
- Ability to do math, in head or on calculator, for calculating and cutting yard goods Compensation package includes commission for sales of sewing machines and furniture.
