Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Seamstress to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for transforming raw fabrics into beautifully crafted, custom window treatments & draperies, ensuring each piece meets our high standards of quality and craftsmanship. However, sewing experience is not necessary, but highly recommended. We will train and teach you to sew. This position offers an engaging opportunity to apply your sewing skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, with a focus on precision, efficiency, and quality. Paid for a Full 40 hour work week, but work 36.5 hours which includes a 15 minute morning break and a 30 min lunch break. Pro Rated Health Insurance provided after 6 months of working at Walker's 2 week paid vacation after a year working at Walker's. Paid Holidays. Transportation from Person County to Durham provided. Duties Operate sewing machines to assemble custom window treatments and draperies with accuracy. Follow instructions given to provide a finished window treatment product. Inspect finished products for defects, inconsistencies, or quality issues, making necessary adjustments or repairs Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines while maintaining high standards of craftsmanship Maintain a clean and organized workspace within the sewing room. Adhere to safety protocols and operational procedures at all times during sewing and manufacturing processes Requirements Sewing experience is not necessary, but highly recommended. We will train and teach you to sew. Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks with precision Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality control Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment.
