Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Separates covers to prepare for sewing. Selects thread according to colors of fabric. Joins pieces together according to sewing notes using sewing machine. Aligns pieces and any trimmings following seams, edges or markings on parts. Checks for any puckering or bad seams. Fixes all repairs before starting on new piece. Maintains a neat and orderly workstation.

Job Requirements:

Knowledgeable in sewing methods and be able to complete job to quality specifications. Able to read tickets, sew piece according to sewing notes, and keep sewing notebook updated and in neat order. High degree of accuracy, attention to detail and confidentiality Effective verbal, listening and written communication skills Demonstrates a sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines Effective organizational, stress and time management skills Results and deadline-oriented, ability to prioritize and multitask Thrives in a changing and dynamic environment Available to work weekends or overtime as needed Physical demands and abilities: Ability to cut in both single and multiple piles Prolonged periods of sitting, bending, reaching Able to lift 25 pounds, occasionally Regularly use hands and fingers to handle, control or feel objects
