Costume Creator/Stitcher/Sewist/Seamstress/Tailor

You will be a great match for us if you have experience creating competitive dance costumes. Overview We are seeking a skilled onsite costume creator to join our team! The ideal candidate will have a passion for costume construction and excellent sewing skills. If you have worked in a theatre costume shop, this could be a great fit as it's fairly similar, but with LOTS more sparkles! We work with spandex a lot, and are willing to work with you to teach you how to best handle it, but it is a big plus if you already have experience working with it. If you are detail-oriented and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, we would love to hear from you! Responsibilities Create costumes with provided patterns, fabrics, and supplies Perform alterations and repairs on various types of costumes Take precise measurements to ensure accurate fittings Operate sewing machines and other tools to complete tasks efficiently Collaborate with team members to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality work Stay updated on current costume trends and techniques in costume construction Skills Proficient in using a sewing machine and serger Experience with stretch fabrics Hand sewing, applique, and applying rhinestones Strong knowledge of garment construction techniques: design, pattern making, draping, etc Basic math skills for measurements and calculations Ability to sew various fabrics with precision Additional Skills/Experience (not required but helpful) Experience in dance costumes LED electrical work, LED props Cosplay, ballroom, showgirl, burlesque, acrobatic, circus costumes

Millinery:

hat making, fascinators, headdresses Prop and/or set design Sketching Crafting Work with various mediums & tools: foam, paint, Cricut, 3d printer, dremel, soldering etc
