Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and passionate Experienced Automotive Trim Technician / Custom Upholstery Technician to join our team. We are a well-established custom upholstery shop with 27 years in business, specializing in high-quality automotive interiors, restorations, custom builds, and upholstery craftsmanship. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and customizing automotive interior components with precision and creativity. This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, pays attention to detail, and consistently produces show-quality results. Duties Install, repair, and customize automotive interior trim, upholstery, and accessories using hand tools, power tools, sewing machines, and other manufacturing equipment Measure, cut, sew, and assemble upholstery materials with attention to detail and quality standards Remove old or damaged interior components carefully to prepare for new installations Conduct quality inspections throughout the process to ensure durability and aesthetic appeal Assist in auto restoration projects by restoring or replacing interior elements to original or custom specifications Maintain a clean and organized workspace while adhering to safety protocols at all times Requirements Proven experience as an automotive trim or upholstery technician with a strong portfolio of completed projects Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, sewing machines, and assembly equipment Knowledge of sewing techniques specific to automotive upholstery and manufacturing processes Familiarity with auto restoration procedures and vehicle interior systems Ability to work with hot rod, muscle, and classic interior restorations as well as current model vehicles. Knowledge of convertible tops is a plus! Strong attention to detail, craftsmanship, and problem-solving skills Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment
