Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented cut and sew technician to join our upholstery team in the remanufacturing of high-quality office chairs. In this role, you will be responsible for cutting and sewing new chair covers and components with precision and consistency, contributing to our mission of sustainability by giving used chairs new life through expert craftsmanship.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate industrial sewing machines to stitch fabric, mesh, or vinyl for office chair components (seats, backs, headrests, etc.) Read and interpret sewing patterns, work orders, and production specs Inspect materials and finished products for defects in stitching, alignment, or overall quality Collaborate with the upholstery and assembly teams to ensure timely and accurate completion of orders Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring machines are properly maintained Follow all safety procedures and company quality standards Assist with cutting, marking, or assembling fabric when needed Participate in continuous improvement efforts and suggest ways to enhance processes and quality
Qualifications:
1+ year of sewing experience in upholstery, garment, automotive, or furniture manufacturing (preferred) Proficient with industrial sewing machines (e.g., single needle, walking foot, or serger machines) Strong attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment Basic math and measuring skills Commitment to quality, safety, and sustainability
Preferred Skills:
Experience sewing upholstery or working with vinyl, mesh, or heavy fabrics Ability to read basic technical drawings or production specs Capable to sit for extended periods of time
Job Type:

$19.00 - $22.00 per hour
