Job Description

Job Summary Waldoch Crafts is seeking a full time Automotive Upholstery Technician responsible for fabricating, repairing, and installing custom interior components in vehicles. This role supports the transformation of standard vehicles into specialized units (e.g., fleet vehicles, custom vehicles, commercial vans) by ensuring high-quality upholstery work that meets safety, durability, and aesthetic standards. Key Responsibilities Measure, cut, sew, and install upholstery materials including vinyl, leather, fabric, and foam for vehicle interiors Remove and reinstall interior components such as seats, panels, headliners, and trim pieces Fabricate custom seat covers, cushions, and interior panels to meet customer or project specifications Modify vehicle interiors to accommodate upfit equipment (e.g., consoles, partitions, electronics) Repair worn or damaged upholstery components to restore functionality and appearance Interpret work orders, blueprints, and design specifications accurately Operate and maintain upholstery tools and equipment (sewing machines, staple guns, cutting tools, adhesives) Ensure all work complies with quality standards, safety regulations, and company procedures Collaborate with other technicians (mechanical, electrical, fabrication) during vehicle builds Maintain a clean and organized workspace Qualifications & Experience High school diploma or GED required; vocational training in upholstery or automotive trades preferred 1-3+ years of upholstery, sewing, or interior fabrication experience (automotive preferred) Knowledge of upholstery materials, patterns, and installation techniques Ability to use industrial sewing machines and hand tools Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship Ability to read and interpret measurements and technical drawings Ability to work independently and as part of a team Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various positions (kneeling, bending, standing)

$18.00 - $23.00 per hour
