This entry-level role is ideal for someone interested in learning the upholstery trade, working with their hands, and developing craftsmanship skills in furniture restoration and custom fabrication. Key Responsibilities Assist senior technicians with upholstery projects including sofas, chairs, cushions, and custom pieces Remove existing fabric, padding, and materials from furniture Measure, cut, and apply fabric, foam, and batting Operate basic upholstery tools and equipment (staple guns, sewing machines, etc.) Maintain a clean and organized workspace Inspect finished work to ensure quality standards are met Load/unload furniture and assist with shop logistics as needed Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred Previous experience in upholstery, woodworking, sewing, or construction is a plus, but not required Willingness to learn and take direction Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity Ability to lift and move furniture (70+ lbs) Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented Skills & Attributes Basic measuring and math skills Mechanical aptitude Positive attitude and strong work ethic Interest in furniture restoration, design, or hands-on trades Compensation & Benefits Competitive hourly wage based on experience On-the-job training and skill development Opportunities for advancement within the company Work Environment Workshop setting with exposure to tools, fabrics, adhesives, and machinery Physical role requiring standing, bending, and lifting throughout the day
