Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Steel Fabrication & Assembly Unload, measure, cut, and prepare steel components. Assemble chassis frames using jigs, cross members, clips, outriggers, and headers. Position and secure steel components according to specifications and blueprints. Install hitches, draw bars, jacks, safety chains, and related hardware. Welding & Finishing Perform welding on chassis components and assemblies. Weld hangers, camber supports, hitches, and structural reinforcements. Chip slag and clean weld areas as required. Paint and finish completed chassis assemblies. Suspension, Axles & Brake Systems Install axles, equalizers, tires, brake wiring, and suspension components. Perform brake system installation and operational testing. Verify proper alignment and functionality of installed components. Utility Installation Construct and install gas lines according to engineering prints. Connect and route chassis wiring as required. Quality & Safety Read and interpret blueprints, measurements, and production specifications. Perform quality checks throughout the assembly process. Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment. Assist with transportation repairs and field service work when required. Additional Responsibilities Support production goals and team objectives. Maintain work area cleanliness and organization. Actively participate in cross-training and skill development opportunities to increase versatility and support department operations. Maintain proficiency in trained job functions and apply skills as needed to meet business demands. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education and Experience Must be at least 18 years of age. Welding experience preferred. Manufacturing or construction experience preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to read blueprints and production specifications. Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure. Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Ability to safely operate hand tools and production equipment. Good problem-solving and reasoning skills. Equipment and Tools Used Welding machines Cutting torches Hoists and cranes Impact guns and hand tools Measuring devices Physical Requirements Frequent standing and walking throughout the workday. Frequent bending, reaching, stretching, and lifting. Ability to regularly lift, carry, push, or pull up to 100 pounds. Ability to perform repetitive hand movements and maintain normal use of hands and fingers. Ability to work in varying positions for extended periods. Work Environment Manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, cold, noise, sparks, welding fumes, and moving equipment. Work is performed in an uncontrolled climate environment. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is required at all times. Testing Requirements Pre-employment drug screen. Hearing test.
