Production Utility (Tray Maker)
The Company:
HF Custom (formerly Sam Moore) , a division of Hooker Furnishings Corporation is looking for a Furniture Assembler to join their team in our Bedford, VA plant. Hooker Furnishings Corporation, in its 101st year of business, is a designer, marketer and importer of case goods (wooden and metal furniture), leather furniture and fabric-upholstered furniture for the residential, hospitality and contract markets. The Position:
We are looking for a dependable candidate who enjoys working independently to join our production team. This individual will use hand tools to complete furniture frames. Main duties include, but are not limited to: Attach swivel bases to completed chair frames Trim extra threads off completed chair frames. Cycle counting. Making boxes and placing completed chair frames into boxes. Read and interpret work orders, production drawings, and templates to determine the correct components and assembly sequence. Operate pneumatic staplers, drills, and other hand tools safely and effectively. Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure all tools are in working condition. Meet daily production and quality goals with minimal supervision. Collaborate with other team members, including upholstery departments, inspection, and shipping, to ensure smooth workflow and production efficiency. Follow all safety protocols and participate in safety training as required Candidates that will be a great fit will: Previous experience in furniture frame assembly or woodworking preferred. Ability to read and understand production drawings or blueprints. Skilled in the use of hand and pneumatic tools. Strong attention to detail and commitment to craftsmanship. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks. Working Conditions Manufacturing floor environment with exposure to noise and moving furniture. Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. Why should you apply? Shift:
Monday to Friday 7 am - 3:30 pm

Depending on experience
