SANDING TECHNICIAN- Swing Shift 3.1 3.1 out of 5 stars Sanding Technician Purpose We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Sanding Technician to join our high-performing Sanding Department. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on work, possess a keen eye for detail, and are eager to develop their skills in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You'll utilize specialized finishing tools and work with high-end finishes as part of a dedicated team focused on producing cabinetry that exceeds Bellmont's quality standards. Who You Are You're a motivated Sanding Technician with a solid foundation in surface preparation and hands-on craftsmanship, looking to join a high-performing team where your skills are valued and your career can grow. You take pride in sanding and building select cabinet components to properly prepare them for the next stage of the finishing process, enjoy hands-on work, and thrive in a fast-paced, quality-driven environment. What You'll Do Sand cabinet components and custom pieces to ensure proper surface quality for finishing. Prepare and modify select components, including molding, floating shelves, oven hoods, and other custom pieces as needed. Identify surface imperfections or sanding issues and determine appropriate corrections. Safely operate saws and cutting tools to support sanding department operations and build tasks. Move and stage components carefully to support smooth transfer to the next stage of production. Meet daily and weekly production goals while maintaining strict quality standards. Collaborate with team members to support production flow and maintain high finish quality. Maintain your work area to ensure safety, efficiency, and finish integrity. Share ideas for improving processes and outcomes—we value technicians who think critically and take ownership. Bellmont Cabinet Co. is an Equal Opportunity Employer What You Bring Previous experience in surface preparation, sanding, or woodworking is a plus; however, a strong work ethic and eagerness to learn are what matter most. Comprehensive training will be provided for the right candidate. Ability to recognize surface quality issues, including areas that are over-sanded, under-sanded, or contain visible imperfections. Comfortable using hand tools, sanding equipment, and shop tools safely and responsibly. Able to safely lift up to 50 pounds alone; lifts over 50 pounds require team assistance. Ability to maintain focus during repetitive tasks and a willingness to learn and adapt. Good communication skills to effectively collaborate and report quality concerns. Comfortable reading production schedules, job cards, and basic computer interfaces. A good eye for detail, strong work ethic, and a team-first attitude. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
