Experienced Vet Assistant

Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and experienced Vet Assistant or LVT to join our veterinary team! In this vital role, you will support our practice by providing exceptional animal care to our dog and cat patients. This position will be based in a technical role but our clinic is small and staff are cross-trained across all areas of the hospital, so occasional floating is realistic. We are interested in full time with a four-day work week and some rotating weekend/holiday duties. Our team is proud to offer a healthy professional atmosphere. Staff work well together to provide a high standard of care to our clients and patients. At this time we will be considering only candidates with previous veterinary experience. Hourly rate negotiable based on experience! Assist with animal restraint and handling to ensure safety for pets, clients, and staff during examinations and procedures Support veterinarian in medication administration, laboratory procedures, and sample collection Prepare, monitor, and recover surgical patients Maintain a clean and sterile environment by following aseptic techniques during surgeries and treatments Assist in appointments (history, restraint, laboratory tests, fill medications etc.) Knowledge and skill in animal husbandry, understanding of the messy nature of this position Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and restraint techniques Hands-on experience with medication administration, catheterization, laboratory procedures, and aseptic techniques Familiarity and comfort with clerical operations including client communication, appointment scheduling, medical software, financial transactions Strong communcation skills, friendly demeanor, and ability to work with the public Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail and compassion for animals. Pay:

$16.00 - $18.00 per hour
