Job Description

Our company is growing, and we are eager to welcome an enthusiastic and experienced certified veterinary technician or highly experienced veterinary assistant. Join us at our three full-service small animal veterinary hospitals, privately owned in the heart of Rogers, Arkansas, where our rotating team of seven compassionate doctors delivers top-notch medical and surgical care. Our services include on-site digital radiography, computed tomography, soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, dentistry, in house diagnostic lab work, boarding, and both wellness and sick appointments. Duties will include:
Perform venipuncture, place IV catheters, administer vaccinations, obtain blood pressure, read and record urinalysis tests, gather and record vitals including temperature, respiration rate, pulse, mucous membrane color, CRT, eye reflex, and level of consciousness). Administer oral, topical, and injectable (IV, IM, SQ) medications, and care for hospitalized patients. Perform dental cleanings. Assist with surgery and monitor patients while under anesthesia. Note any signs of disease/illness in small animal patients and communicate any signs to veterinarian on staff. Must be able to communicate well with other staff and clients. Must have a TEAM attitude and be willing to help other staff in working towards a goal of excellent patient and client care. Must understand veterinary terminology, be able to effectively take patient histories and veterinarian instructions, and record those into digital electronic medical record. Perform client education regarding post-operative patients, heartworm and flea/tick prevention, vaccinations/wellness, etc. MUST enjoy working with both people and animals. Must show compassion to both patients and clients. Efficiently clean up after yourself, patients, and other staff if needed. Must be able to lift up to 40-50 pounds and restrain very large to very small patients with minimal stress to the patient. Must be available for weekend shifts (Saturday shifts on rotation from 8am-12pm) and some holidays. Bilingual is a plus, but not required!

Veterinary Technician/Assistant Compensation:
Based heavily on experience and certification . Pay rate increases depending upon years of experience, technical ability, and certification.

Experience/Education/Licenses:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Certificate of completion from an AVMA-approved veterinary technician or technology school or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. At this time, the selected candidate will primarily be working at our Midtown location . Hours will include shifts from 7:00am-5:30pm Monday-Friday, with 1 day off during the week; as well as 1-2 Saturday shifts/month, from 8:00am-12:00pm.
