Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant who thrives in a high-volume environment and is confident in both technical skills and patient care. This position is ideal for someone who can work independently, anticipate doctor needs, and help drive smooth daily workflow. Key Responsibilities Assist veterinarians with exams, treatments, and surgical procedures Monitor anesthesia and ensure patient safety during procedures Place IV catheters and perform venipuncture confidently Perform dental cleanings and assist with dental radiographs Run in-house lab work (bloodwork, cytology, urinalysis, etc.) Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed Obtain patient histories, TPRs, and maintain accurate records Provide compassionate patient handling and nursing care Educate clients on treatment plans, medications, and preventative care Maintain accurate medical records in ShepherdVet Software Support efficient patient flow alongside CSRs and doctors Qualifications Minimum 2-3 years experience as a Veterinary Assistant (Required) Proficient in anesthesia monitoring, surgery support, and dental procedures Strong venipuncture and catheter placement skills
REQUIRED
Experience in a fast-paced, high-volume veterinary hospital Comfortable with electronic medical records (ShepherdVet preferred) Strong communication, multitasking, and organizational skills Reliable, professional, and team-oriented Must have a high school diploma or equivalent Must be able to lift 40 lbs without limitation Schedule Full-time position/Part-time position Monday-Friday, 7:30am-5:30pm No weekends at this time
Pay:
$19.00 - $21.00 per hour
