Job Description

Canyon Animal Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Technician to join our team in Phoenix, AZ. Canyon Animal Hospital is a fast-growing, full-service veterinary hospital in the heart of Phoenix, AZ. We are seeking a highly motivated, dependable individual who is excited about working in a fun, fast-paced environment and loves helping animals.
Duties include:
Assisting the veterinarian with patient care, including pre-operative and post-operative procedures Cleaning and sterilizing surgical instruments and surgical equipment Answering phones and scheduling appointments Preparing patient charts for examinations and procedures Taking vitals, blood pressure, and temperature of patients Venipuncture & iv catheter placement Preparing surgical patients for post-op care by cleaning wounds, removing sutures, and applying bandages Surgical preparation Keeping accurate records of patient care and surgery information including but not limited to patient history, medications administered, times of operations, blood draw procedures performed etc. Other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager to include scheduling calls, answering phones, or scheduling appointments.
Qualifications:
Experience in an animal hospital Required. This position requires excellent communication skills to work well with co-workers as well as excellent organizational skills to effectively manage one's time. The position requires that the individual be able to work independently with minimal supervision. The individual must be comfortable working with animals (cats/dogs) and be willing to learn animal handling techniques. The individual must have the ability to read and speak English fluently. The individual must have the ability to work flexible hours.
