• Citrus Heights, CA Summer Hills Veterinary Hospital is looking for a reliable, motivated, and compassionate part-time Veterinary Technician Assistant / Veterinary Assistant to join our team.

We are a small animal veterinary hospital providing medical care for dogs and cats. This position is a good fit for someone who enjoys working with animals, helping a busy veterinary team, and providing support wherever needed in the hospital.

Weekday and Saturday availability preferred

Experience:

Veterinary experience preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate Responsibilities include: Assisting veterinarians and technicians with appointments, treatments, and procedures Safely restraining dogs and cats during exams, treatments, blood draws, nail trims, and other services Preparing exam rooms and treatment areas for appointments and procedures Cleaning and disinfecting cages, exam rooms, treatment areas, surgical areas, and hospital equipment Assisting with lab samples, radiographs, ear cleanings, wound care, and medication preparation as directed Helping with surgical and dental patient preparation and recovery Monitoring hospitalized or recovering patients and reporting concerns to the medical team Maintaining accurate medical records and treatment notes as directed Helping with laundry, inventory, and general hospital organization Supporting front desk/reception duties when needed, including answering phones, checking clients in/out, scheduling appointments, and client communication Ideal candidate: Dependable, punctual, and professional Has a positive attitude and is willing to learn Comfortable handling dogs and cats of different sizes and temperaments Able to work in a fast-paced veterinary environment Can follow directions carefully and communicate clearly Works well as part of a team Willing to help with both animal care and hospital cleaning duties Understands that veterinary work can be physically and emotionally demanding

Requirements:
