Full Job Description Veterinary Assistant Position Overview:

We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented, compassionate, and

EXPERIENCED

Veterinary Assistant to join our team. This role is essential in supporting veterinarians, ensuring efficient workflow, and delivering high-quality patient care while creating a positive experience for clients and their pets.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist veterinarians and vet techs with exams, treatments, and surgical procedures Safely restrain animals during exams and procedures Obtain patient histories and record accurate medical notes Perform laboratory tests (fecal exams, urinalysis, blood work, cytology) Prepare and maintain surgical suites, instruments, and equipment Administer medications and vaccines Monitor patients during surgery and recovery Take and process radiographs (X-rays) Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms and treatment areas Provide client education on medications, post-op care, and preventive health Assist with inventory management and stocking supplies

Qualifications:

For Veterinary Assistant:

Previous experience in a veterinary clinic

REQUIRED

Basic knowledge of animal handling and restraint

REQUIRED

Willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment

REQUIRED

Work Environment:

Fast-paced veterinary hospital setting Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting (up to 40+ lbs) Exposure to animals, including those that may be fearful or aggressive Preferred (but not required): Experience with electronic medical records (e.g., AVImark ) Experience in surgery and anesthesia monitoring
