We are located in Old Towne Fair Oaks. You must have previous experience working in the veterinary field or at least be in the fourth term of a Veterinary Technician schooling program. Candidate must be reliable, possess excellent communication skills, strong work ethic, strategic thinking, extreme attention to detail, and be able to multi-task while maintaining a friendly and positive attitude.
Other skills include:
General product knowledge: flea and heartworm preventatives, medications, vaccines, etc. Ability to multi-task without losing accuracy and focus Ability to prioritize tasks Confident animal handling skills Team player Ability to perform TPR, surgical assisting, dentistry knowledge, blood draws, basic laboratory, etc. Self-motivated learner Flexibility of schedule including weekends Good customer service skills Knowledge of medical terminology Knowledge of pharmacology Easily adaptable to different clients, fellow staff, management styles and overall day to day changes. Professional appearance Duties include, but not limited to: Answering phones, scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records Communicating with clients regarding patient care Assisting doctors with medical care of patients Cleaning cages and kennels and general care of hospitalized patients Filling multiple prescriptions per day with accuracy and extensive attention to detail. This includes contacting outside pharmacies.
