Emergency Veterinary Technician/ assistant (Full-Time) 2.5 2.5 out of 5 stars Job Summary We are a privately owned emergency veterinary clinic that sees dogs, cats and exotic animals. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician or assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to animals while assisting veterinarians in various clinical tasks. This position requires a strong understanding of animal physiology and anatomy, as well as the ability to perform laboratory procedures and maintain a clean, safe environment for both patients and staff. Duties Perform animal restraint techniques to facilitate examinations and treatments. Conduct routine laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis, Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each animal treated. Provide basic animal husbandry care, including feeding, grooming, and monitoring health status. Prepare animals and monitor them for surgery Catheter placement Calculate drug dosages Phlebotomy Requirements Current veterinary technician license or minimum of 3 years veterinary experience. Strong knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, and husbandry practices. Familiarity with aseptic techniques and laboratory procedures is highly desirable. Ability to effectively restrain animals safely during examinations or treatments. Excellent communication skills for interacting with pet owners and team members. A passion for animal welfare and a commitment to providing exceptional care.
