Job Description
Founded in 1972, Golden State Humane Society is a Nonprofit Veterinary Organization offering low-cost spay, neutering, vaccines, and basic healthcare with a focus on underserved communities, through client education, medical care and illness prevention. We have two Locations. One in Orange County and one in South Los Angeles County. The primary purpose and function of the Veterinary Assistant are to assist in providing care for animals including physical examinations, surgeries, immunizations, as well as client education. Must have a working knowledge of pharmaceutical drugs and common illnesses. The ideal candidate has a compassion for the animal human bond, ability to adapt to work environment and pace, show compassion and effective communication skills. Has practical experience in a veterinary or animal care related position.
