Veterinary Assistant - Part-Time Garden Grove Dog & Cat Hospital Garden Grove, CA Job Details Part-time $18 - $22 an hour 1 hour ago Benefits Continuing education credits Health savings account Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Flexible spending account Paid time off Parental leave Vision insurance Qualifications Communication with pet owners Patient interaction Full Job Description Description Garden Grove Dog and Cat Hospital is looking for a dependable, motivated, compassionate, and experienced part-time Veterinary Assistant (licensed preferred) for our multi doctor practice in Garden Grove, CA, to join our team. We are a busy, walk in hospital with a wide variety of caseload. The veterinary technician must be someone who enjoys interacting with people as well as animals, and who can communicate effectively and professionally with the doctors, technical staff, CSR's and clients. The Vet Technician Assistant duties include (but are not limited to): Compassionately restraining animals Taking digital radiographs Medication and vaccine administration Surgical preparation and monitoring Drawing blood Placing IV catheters Hospitalized patient care. The ideal candidate will be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, provide exceptional customer service, and demonstrate genuine compassion for our patients, maintain a positive attitude, and have good record keeping skills. This position will require bending, kneeling, lifting (up to 30 pounds, as necessary), and standing for long periods of time. Advanced technical skills not required, but advantageous. Compensation is dependent on experience. Our hospital hours are Monday - Friday 7:30am until 6pm, Saturdays 7:30am until 12pm and Sundays 10:30am until 3pm. Schedule will consist of some weekday and weekend shifts. Compensation negotiable based on credentials and experience with an hourly pay rate from $18-$22/ hour. The actual rate offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
