Job Description

Glendale Small Animal Hospital is a high volume, 3 doctor animal hospital. We are currently seeking a part-time veterinary assistant or technician to join our team. Experience of at least 1 year or more is recommended. This position is for weekday and weekend shifts.
Tasks include:
Understanding of basic veterinary terminology (willing to teach). Collaborating directly with the veterinarian, clients and front staff to ensure a smooth flow in the hospital. Cleaning and restocking the hospital throughout the day as needed. Able to multitask under pressure. Assist with patient intake through drop-off appointments. Care for each patient with compassion. Properly handling/ restraining pets for examination. Assisting with surgeries and check on patients after procedures. Performing dental cleanings under general anesthesia. Coordinating hospitalized patient treatments. Performing x-rays. Drawing blood samples for lab work. Calculating medication doses as needed. Administering medication in various routes (IV, IM, SC, PO). Placing IV catheters. Daily upkeep of laundry. Being proactive even when things slow down. •Salary is negotiable based on experience.
