Veterinary Assistant - NO WEEKENDS

We are a private, non-corporate practice looking to add a veterinary assistant to our awesome team. Team members are passionate about their work and enjoy working together as a family. Job Requirements:

Physical Effort:

Ability to sit, squat, bend, walk quickly, and stand for 6+ hours at a time, be able to lift, pull, restrain, or push 50lbs of weight, reach above head. Work requires lifting, carrying and restraining animals up to 50 lbs. Frequently works in a bent position and on the floor.

Working conditions:

May be exposed to unpleasant odors, noises and animal feces. May be exposed to bites, scratches and contagious diseases. A good working knowledge of computers and be able to learn our client management software (we are a paperless facility). Have reliable transportation

Qualifications:

2 years+ current veterinary experience preferred Customer service experience required High school diploma or equivalent required Can stay calm and efficient during a medical crisis. Well-spoken and approaches his/her job duties in a mature nature. Experienced in the teamwork approach and works well with all levels of hospital team members Genuinely enjoys working with clients Excellent client communication skills Able to work effectively and efficiently under pressure and in a fast-paced environment Able to work with animals and is able to deal with them even when they are stressed, ill or in pain Knowledge of veterinary terminology and pharmacology preferred. Ability to learn them - required Willing to cross-train and take shifts as client service representative
