Job Description

Job Overview Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinary Assistant and become a vital part of providing exceptional animal care! In this energetic role, you will support veterinarians and veterinary technicians by assisting with animal handling, treatment procedures, and client communication. Your enthusiasm and dedication will help ensure our furry and fluffy patients receive the highest quality care in a compassionate environment. Duties Assist with animal restraint and handling to ensure safety for both animals and staff during examinations and procedures Support veterinary technicians with medication administration, laboratory work, and sample collection using aseptic techniques Provide pet care and animal husbandry, including feeding, cleaning, and monitoring health status Help maintain cleanliness and organization of kennels, treatment areas, and equipment following proper infection control protocols Restrain animals for procedures such as catheterization or injections, ensuring minimal stress and discomfort Support front desk activities by scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and communicating with pet owners Assist with equine care when applicable, including grooming, feeding, and basic health assessments Requirements Prior kennel experience or animal care background preferred, but not required; experience in veterinary clinics or laboratories is highly valued Strong animal handling skills across various species (cats and dogs) Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, anatomy, and pet care best practices Ability to perform animal restraint safely and effectively during examinations or treatments Experience with medication administration, laboratory procedures, and aseptic techniques is a plus Excellent communication and customer service skills for interacting with clients and team members in a professional manner Willingness to learn new skills related to veterinary critical care, animal catheterization, and laboratory work This role is perfect for motivated individuals passionate about animal health who thrive in fast-paced environments.
