Competitive hourly pay (based on experience) About Us VIP Animal Hospital Garfield is a busy, full-service veterinary clinic in Paramount dedicated to providing exceptional care for pets and their families. We pride ourselves on a positive, team-oriented environment where both animals and staff feel supported. Job Summary We are looking for a compassionate, reliable, and detail-oriented Kennel Attendant to join our team. In this role, you'll ensure the comfort, cleanliness, and well-being of our hospitalized and in-house pets (dogs and cats). This is a great opportunity for animal lovers who enjoy hands-on work in a fast-paced veterinary setting. We are willing to train the right candidate for a Veterinary Assistant role if interested. Key Responsibilities Feed, water, and provide daily care for hospitalized and in-house animals (dogs and cats) Clean and sanitize kennels, cages, runs, and facility areas following strict infection control protocols Walk dogs multiple times daily and provide exercise/socialization Monitor animals for signs of illness, injury, or distress and report concerns promptly to the veterinary team Bathe, groom, and give TLC to pets as needed Perform laundry, dishwashing, and general facility maintenance Assist with pet admissions, and discharges. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment for pets and staff Provide exceptional customer service when interacting with pet owners Requirements Must have basic veterinary experience (e.g., prior work in a vet clinic, shelter, or similar animal care setting) OR the ability to start as Kennel Attendant with strong growth potential to Veterinary Assistant Passion for animals and a strong work ethic Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stay on your feet for long periods Reliable transportation and flexible availability (weekends/holidays required) Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols Positive attitude, teamwork skills, and a professional demeanor Comfortable working in a noisy, fast-paced environment with dogs and cats of all sizes and temperaments What We Offer Competitive pay with growth opportunities for those interested in advancing Supportive team environment with experienced veterinary professionals Hands-on experience and training that can lead to advancement within our clinics If you love animals and want to make a difference in their daily lives, we'd love to hear from you!
