These roles are ideal for experienced equine professionals who are passionate about whole-horse wellness and enjoy working as part of a close-knit, communicative team. About the
Role:
Each technician will help manage the daily rehabilitation of up to six equine cases , five days per week. This includes structured hands-on rehab at our new
AIM REHAB
locations as well as work with sanctuary animals in need of rehabilitation at Rooster Run Foundation , located onsite. The position requires clear communication , teamwork, and consistency in care while encouraging independence and thoughtful problem-solving. As part of a small, focused team, you'll work closely with Dr. Carrie Schlachter and fellow assistants to ensure each animal receives consistent, high-quality, emotionally supportive care.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide daily care and rehab sessions for up to 6 assigned horses. Collaborate with other team members and the doctor to ensure continuity of care. Implement individualized rehab plans, including groundwork, structured exercise, and manual therapies. Support rehab-focused handling of sanctuary animals at Rooster Run. Observe, document, and communicate progress, behavior, and concerns regularly. Contribute to a team culture of respect, professionalism, and emotional awareness—for animals and humans alike. Maintain a clean, safe, and enriching environment.
What We're Looking For:
Strong equine handling and horsemanship experience required. Background in equine rehabilitation, performance horse care, or veterinary support preferred. Exceptional communication and collaboration skills—verbal, written, and interpersonal. Comfortable working both independently and as part of a small, communicative team. Positive attitude, reliability, and emotional maturity. Flexible availability; must be consistent with assigned days.
Schedule & Compensation:
Part-time or full-time options available (minimum 3 days/week preferred). Includes weekday and weekend coverage. Competitive pay based on experience and commitment level.
