The ideal candidate has prior experience in a veterinary clinical setting, and is already familiar with the expectations and duties of a veterinary assistant. •Giving priority to applicants with flexible availability

Monday-Saturday Specific Duties:

Assist the doctor with proper restraint techniques during exams and treatment Care for boarding and hospitalized animals, including kennel cleaning, observing for signs of illness, maintaining animal cleanliness, etc. Maintain hospital cleanliness & laundry Obtain proper medical history prior to exams and ensuring up to date medical records for each patient Perform various treatments under the supervision of the veterinarian (including, but not limited to, venipuncture, vaccine administration, IV catheter placement, etc.)

Minimum Qualifications:

Ability to learn cleaning and disinfecting methods and the use and care of cleaning materials and equipment; Appropriately handle and restrain animals; Learn basic animal care; Learn basic veterinary terminology and recognize abnormal conditions; Understand and carry out oral and written directions

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand for long periods of time and perform moderately heavy physical labor; Must be able to handle and restrain animals; Must be able to lift up to 40lbs unassisted

Pay:

$18.00 - $19.00 per hour
