Full Job Description Job Summary:
This is a full time position, that will require you to work 1 day a week as a Veterinary Receptionist during the night, and 3-day shifts as a DA. Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinary Doctor's Assistant (DA), where your enthusiasm and dedication will contribute to providing exceptional animal care and support to our veterinary professionals. This paid position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, pet-focused environment. If you're passionate about animal welfare and eager to develop your client communication skills, this role is perfect for you!
Duties:
Maintain financial records and reports using practice management software (EzyVet). Creation of Templates in EzyVet to assist in the delivery of efficient patient care, as directed. Read through the medical record and treatment sheets on Smartflow and clarify any unclear treatments with the doctor to ensure accurate invoicing. Provide daily financial updates for hospitalized or ongoing cases. If a patient is approaching the high end of their estimate or is expected to go over it by the next day, a new estimate must be created. The updated estimate should reflect current charges at the time of communication, providing a clear and accurate financial range for client approval and this conversation needs to be documented on the clinical record as financial communication. Additionally, when going over a new estimate an additional deposit of the high end MUST be collected by the DA or reception. Be proactive and transparent—clear, timely communication avoids surprises and builds trust with owners. STAT cases are handled through reception, who will communicate with the client and collect the deposit. The DA should remain behind observing and document all diagnostics and treatments being performed to ensure proper billing and chart accuracy Experience with Smartflow and EzyVet is a must.
