Veterinary Assistant for Natomas Veterinary Hospital Natomas Veterinary Hospital is a growing, community-focused practice transitioning into a modern, innovative hospital designed to meet the evolving needs of our clients and patients. Our team is hardworking, supportive, and family-oriented, and we take great pride in providing exceptional patient care and outstanding client service. We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our medical team in a full-time role. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional who wants to showcase their clinical skills while continuing to grow with a progressive practice that truly treats every patient as their own. Veterinary Assistant Responsibilities Provide high-quality patient care by assessing animal needs and assisting with treatment plans Assist veterinarians during examinations, procedures, and surgeries Perform and assist with diagnostic procedures and sample collection Take and record vital signs; place catheters and collect blood samples as needed Prepare surgical suites, instruments, and anesthesia equipment Monitor patients under anesthesia and assist with recovery Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed Bandage and wrap wounds; maintain sterile and sanitary conditions Maintain accurate medical records and ensure proper documentation Clean and disinfect cages, equipment, and treatment areas Maintain inventory of medical supplies and equipment Communicate patient status and care instructions to pet owners professionally and compassionately Ensure a safe, secure, humane, and compliant hospital environment Qualifications & Skills Previous experience as a Veterinary Assistant or in a veterinary clinical setting Knowledge of animal behavior and basic animal husbandry Experience assisting with anesthesia monitoring preferred Strong clinical and technical skills with attention to detail Ability to remain calm and effective in fast-paced or emergency situations Excellent verbal communication and documentation skills Compassionate, patient-focused mindset and a genuine love for animals Compensation & Benefits Natomas Veterinary Hospital offers competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package, including: Medical, dental, and vision insurance Cell phone allowance Continuing education (CE) allowance Additional perks and growth opportunities
