This position is ideal for someone who enjoys variety throughout the workday and is comfortable assisting both at the front desk, in the treatment area and with the doctor. As a floater, you will help support the hospital wherever needed — including reception duties, client communication, patient care assistance, and general hospital organization. Veterinary experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate with a positive attitude and strong work ethic. Responsibilities Reception duties include but are not limited to: Greet clients Schedule appointments, check clients in and out Process payments Communicate with clients professionally and compassionately Manage phone inquiries professionally, providing information on pet care services, treatments, and clinic policies Veterinary assistant duties include but are not limited to: Assist with animal handling, restraint, and basic pet grooming tasks to support veterinary procedures Maintain thorough records of pet information, medical history, and laboratory results using veterinary terminology and aseptic techniques Support kennel operations by providing animal husbandry, feeding, cleaning, and ensuring proper animal care standards are met Coordinate laboratory sample collection and processing Support veterinarians with tasks such as administering medications, blood draws or assisting during procedures as needed Qualifications Proven experience as a veterinary receptionist or in a similar customer service role within a veterinary setting Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, restraint techniques, and pet care best practices Experience with medical collections, laboratory procedures, and aseptic techniques is highly desirable Kennel experience or background in animal husbandry is preferred Ability to handle animals safely during restraint or routine procedures Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain veterinary processes clearly to clients Demonstrated organizational skills with attention to detail Position Details Part-time position Schedule will include weekdays and possibly one Saturday a month Opportunity to grow within the veterinary field Employee discount Supportive and team-focused environment If you are passionate about animal care and enjoy being part of a collaborative veterinary team, we would love to hear from you!
