Overnight Veterinary Technician/Assistant Full time

We are a small animal, exotic and pocket pet emergency clinic and we are seeking a compassionate and skilled Veterinary Technician to join our animal care team. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for animal welfare and a commitment to providing top-notch care and support to our veterinary patients. As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a crucial role in assisting our veterinarians in diagnosing and treating a wide range of medical conditions. This is an overnight position that is scheduled 11pm-9am and applicant must be willing to work weekends and holidays. • Responsibilities
• Assist veterinarians with patient examinations, surgeries, and medical procedures
• Monitor and record patient vital signs, medication, and treatment plans
• Provide laboratory and diagnostic testing, including blood draws and urinalysis
• Assist with animal restraint and catheterization
• Maintain a clean and organized veterinary clinic environment
• Administer medications, fluids, and treatments as directed by veterinarians
• Participate in veterinary critical care and provide emergency care
• Collaborate with veterinarians to develop and implement treatment plans
• Communicate effectively with clients and provide exceptional customer service
• Maintain accurate and detailed medical records
• Skills
• Strong understanding of animal physiology and veterinary medicine
• Proficiency in aseptic technique and laboratory procedures
• Experience with animal restraint and catheterization. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced veterinary environment
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols
• Willingness to continue education and stay up-to-date on the latest veterinary techniques and procedures
