Job Description
We are a small animal, exotic and pocket pet emergency clinic and we are seeking a compassionate and skilled Veterinary Technician to join our animal care team. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for animal welfare and a commitment to providing top-notch care and support to our veterinary patients. As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a crucial role in assisting our veterinarians in diagnosing and treating a wide range of medical conditions. This is an overnight position that is scheduled 11pm-9am and applicant must be willing to work weekends and holidays. If you have a minimum of 3 years of veterinary experience and are eager to work in a fast-paced veterinary environment, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
- Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians with patient examinations, surgeries, and medical procedures
- Monitor and record patient vital signs, medication, and treatment plans
- Provide laboratory and diagnostic testing, including blood draws and urinalysis
- Assist with animal restraint and catheterization
- Maintain a clean and organized veterinary clinic environment
- Administer medications, fluids, and treatments as directed by veterinarians
- Participate in veterinary critical care and provide emergency care
- Collaborate with veterinarians to develop and implement treatment plans
- Communicate effectively with clients and provide exceptional customer service
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records
- Skills
- Strong understanding of animal physiology and veterinary medicine
- Proficiency in aseptic technique and laboratory procedures
- Experience with animal restraint and catheterization. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced veterinary environment
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols
- Willingness to continue education and stay up-to-date on the latest veterinary techniques and procedures
