(ER/ICU experience Preferred NOT required) Bixby Animal Hospital & Urgent Care is a brand new, state-of-the-art animal hospital and urgent care. This is the 4th location of a private practice that has been a part of the South Bay community since 2005. As a committed private practice hospital, we pride ourselves on providing excellent customer service to our clients and exceptional medical care to our patients. To continue our mission of excellence in pet health, we're now hiring doctors for our newest full-service animal hospital. You'll have the freedom that a private practice offers to practice medicine the way you want, while having the backing of experienced DVM colleagues as you pursue professional growth. About Our Hospitals Bixby Animal Hospital & Urgent Care joins Bixby Animal Clinic in Long Beach, Lakewood Pet Vet in Lakewood, and Lincoln Animal Hospital in Cypress as the largest GP/Urgent Care in the South Bay. Besides wellness, sick pet, and walk-in appointments, our Associates perform surgeries on a wide variety of cases. Our facility works hand in hand with board-certified internists, dermatologists, cardiologists, orthopedic surgeons, and board certified criticalists onsite, so we're able to keep our cases in-house. We have also made a significant investment in our team members so you can focus on delivering the highest quality medicine. Every Associate is supported by a Doctor's Assistant in addition to RVTs, Vet Assistants, and Pharmacy Technician, all dedicated to our mission of providing excellent patient outcomes. Our new hospital has 8 exam rooms, two surgery suites, large doctors' office, separate dog and cat wards, and is outfitted with all the latest equipment, including: Digital full-body radiography and digital dental radiography In-house lab with Idexx Catalyst, SnapPro, Abaxis PTPTT, and CBC machines Full suite of dental equipment Endoscopy Cold laser Ultrasound ICU (oxygen) Cage In-house and online pharmacy Our practice continues to grow, and we need talented people to grow with us. Bixby Animal Hospital & Urgent Care are looking for new team members to add to our general practice/urgent care department.
- We offer a structured training program run by a dedicated training manager for ALL levels of technicians, whether you are just starting your career or have been working in the field for 10 years.
- We practice the highest quality medicine using the latest technologies. You'll have many opportunities to use your expertise as you provide exceptional patient care. At our small animal general practice, we perform all types of surgeries, and we bring in board-certified internists, cardiologists and orthopedic surgeons for specialty cases. You'll have many opportunities to grow your skill set.
- Great customer service skills are a MUST.
- Duties include, but are not limited to: venipuncture, IV catheter placement, monitoring anesthesia, performing cystocentesis, taking digital x-rays, administering vaccines, preparing estimates for clients, assisting doctors, restraining pets, etc.
- Previous experience with ezyVet and Smartflow software is preferred.
- We are currently hiring full-time positions on a flexible 4/10 workweek. We're open 7 days a week
- You must be available to work either Saturday or Sunday or both.
- Compensation will depend on experience and type of license.
