We pride ourselves on teamwork, professionalism, and creating a positive work environment. Position Overview We are seeking a reliable, motivated Veterinary Assistant to join our full-time team. The ideal candidate is compassionate, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced general practice setting. Key Responsibilities Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with examinations and treatments Properly restrain animals for exams and procedures Prepare exam rooms and maintain cleanliness of hospital areas Collect and prepare laboratory samples Administer medications and vaccines as directed by a veterinarian Monitor hospitalized patients and report changes to medical staff Maintain accurate medical records Provide client education and support as needed Perform general housekeeping and stocking duties Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Prior experience in a veterinary hospital preferred but not required Ability to lift and restrain animals weighing up to 50 pounds Strong communication and teamwork skills Basic computer proficiency Willingness to work 5 days a week Schedule Full-time position (30-40 hours per week - depending on hospital demand) Flexible scheduling within hospital operating hours Compensation & Benefits $18.00-$20.00 per hour , depending on experience and qualifications Health insurance (if applicable) Paid time off Paid sick leave in accordance with California law Employee pet care discount 401(k) (if applicable) Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Frequent bending, kneeling, and reaching Equal Employment Opportunity Statement VACC is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
