Job Description

Veterinary Kennel Assistant Great Opportunity for Pre-Veterinary Students Are you interested in pursuing a career in veterinary medicine? We are looking for compassionate, motivated, and hardworking individuals to join our team as Veterinary Kennel Assistants. This position is an excellent opportunity for pre-veterinary students seeking hands-on experience in a fast-paced veterinary hospital environment while working alongside RVTs, Senior Veterinary Assistants, and DVMs. As a Veterinary Kennel Assistant, you will play an important role in patient care, hospital cleanliness, and daily workflow support while gaining valuable exposure to veterinary medicine and hospital operations. Responsibilities Patient Care & Husbandry Provide daily care for hospitalized and boarding patients Feed, walk, clean, and monitor animals throughout the day Maintain clean and comfortable kennels and patient areas Observe patient behavior and communicate concerns to medical staff Safely handle dogs, cats, and other small animals Hospital Support Clean and disinfect kennels, treatment areas, exam rooms, and common spaces Restock supplies throughout the hospital Assist with laundry and maintaining an organized workspace Support RVTs, Senior Veterinary Assistants, and DVMs with daily hospital tasks Surgical & Sterile Processing Support Clean and prepare surgical instruments Assist with sterile processing and surgical pack preparation Help maintain cleanliness and organization in treatment and surgical areas What We're Looking For Interest in veterinary medicine, animal care, or pre-veterinary studies Strong work ethic and willingness to learn Positive attitude and ability to work as part of a team Ability to multitask and stay organized in a busy environment Compassion for animals and their owners Reliable attendance and punctuality Previous veterinary experience is helpful but not required. We are willing to train motivated candidates who are eager to learn. What You'll Gain Hands-on experience in a veterinary medical setting Exposure to patient care, surgery, and hospital operations Opportunities to learn from experienced RVTs, veterinary assistants, and veterinarians Experience valuable for veterinary school or future careers in animal health Schedule Part-time and full-time positions may be available Weekend and holiday availability may be required Compensation $19-20/hr DOE If you are a current associate, you need to apply through our internal career site.
